The third annual Night of Superstars red carpet charity event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Best Western, 1200 W. Gannon Drive, Festus.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The event honors extraordinary children around the St. Louis metropolitan area who are making a difference in their community despite their disability or illness.
The Jefferson County honorees are: Marie Rhodes of De Soto; Shruthi Joy Reed of Herculaneum; Selah Harris of Byrnes Mill; and Bryan Dietrich, Trevor Forshee, Christian Mitchell, Caden Shiverdeck and Nathan Stuart Ashbrook, all of Festus.
Local celebrities and officeholders will escort nominees down the red carpet at the event. They will enjoy “celebrity” treatment the day of the event with area businesses donating hair and makeup services, formal gowns for the girls to wear and keep, tuxedos for the boys, limousines and hotel rooms.
Nashville recording artist Jason Ashley will perform at the event for the third year in a row.
Last year, 27 children were honored. This year, 19 will be honored, and organizers are seeking a nomination for a 20th.
For information, call Denise Vuylsteke at 314-714-7000.
The event is sponsored by Re-Max Best Choice.
To buy tickets, which are $125 each, go to www.stlnos.com.
All the proceeds from this year’s event will go to two nonprofit organizations – Ragan’s Hope, which helps parents with children who have had catastrophic illnesses or injuries, and the Children’s Miracle Network, which raises funds for hospitals that treat children.
