The C-6 Educational Foundation will hold its annual fundraising walk-a-thon at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Fox High School athletic stadium, 751 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold.
Organizers are seeking Fox school groups and clubs; students; parents and staff to participate in the foundation’s Health and Wellness Walk-a-thon.
It costs $5 to walk in the fundraiser. Proceeds will benefit the foundation, which funds grants for district schools and classrooms and assists district students in need.
Each walker will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag.
Also, school groups may raise funds for their own clubs by seeking donations for the walk-a-thon. After paying the $5 entry fee for each student, staff member or parent to walk in the event, school groups may keep all donations they solicit and receive.
Hot dogs, water and soda will be sold at the walk-a-thon.
The foundation also is seeking donations and sponsorships from local businesses and organizations. Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City donated $1,500 to the walk-a-thon and is the major sponsor this year.
To donate, mail a check to the C-6 Education Foundation, c/o the Fox School District, 745 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, 63010.
