The Fox C-6 School District will hold an in-person Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday (June 16) at the Fox C-6 Service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold.
It will be the first in-person meeting the school board has held since March 17, when school buildings were closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Board members are expected to vote Tuesday on whether to approve the 2020-2021 budget, as well as on a $28,000 expenditure to hold high school graduation ceremonies at the Family Arena in St. Charles.
At 3 p.m., before the board's open meeting begins, Krystal Hargis, Michelle Chamberlain and Bob Gruenewald, who won seats on the board in the June 2 election, will be sworn into office. In addition, the board will elect a board president and vice president
After the swearing in, the board will hold a closed meeting, and then the public meeting will be held, said JP Prezzavento, the district’s communication and instructional technology coordinator.
Since March, the board has held its meetings online using the Zoom virtual meeting app, and the meetings have been broadcast on Fox’s YouTube channel. Fox held virtual meetings on April 21 and May 19.
Prezzavento said the public may attend the meeting on Tuesday, but seating will be limited because chairs must be spaced 6 feet apart.
Board members and Chief Financial Officer John Stewart will be seated at a table on a stage as usual. However, the seven board members and the CFO also will have 6 feet of space between each other. Members of the superintendent’s cabinet will be seated in the gallery, instead of on the stage.
