A Vietnamese restaurant is slated to open this spring in this empty retail space in Festus where Taytro's used to operate before relocating nearby.

It looks like a Vietnamese restaurant is coming to Festus.

The Saigon Restaurant is expected to open in a few months at 343 N. Creek Drive, where the Taytro’s used to operate before relocating in January just a short distance away, to 331 N. Creek Drive.

The Saigon Restaurant owners are Nathan and Sophie Dinh of south St. Louis, who are related to Jefferson County Realtor Tammy Fadler.

The Dinhs said this will be their first restaurant.

Nathan Dinh, 28, said he and his wife hope to open their restaurant sometime in May.

Sophie Dinh, 29, said she and her husband have begun remodeling the space and look forward to opening the business.

“We were inspired by my aunt, Tammy Fadler, to come here,” she said. “We see a lot of opportunity here.”

The Dinhs said they plan to move to the area.

“We want to start a family here,” Sophie Dinh said.

Festus City Council members voted 7-0 Wednesday to approve a liquor license for the restaurant. Ward 4 Councilman Jim Tinnin did not attend the meeting.
