Shop 'n Save in High Ridge.

Schnucks is not buying this Shop 'n Save store in High Ridge, so it is likely to close before Thanksgiving, unless another buyer comes forward

Area Shop ‘n Save stores that are not going to be bought by Schnucks will close, unless another buyer comes forward. If no other buyers are found for those stores, they will close before Thanksgiving, said Collin Reischman, director of communications of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655, which represents 1,500 Shop ‘n Save employees in Missouri.

In Jefferson County, the only Shop ‘n Save store that Schnucks is not buying is at 1023 Crossroads Place in High Ridge.

Schnucks does plan to buy the Shop ‘n Save stores at 1253 Water Tower Place in Arnold, at 1275 N. Truman Blvd. in Festus, both in Jefferson County, as well as one at 45 Gravois Bluffs Plaza in Fenton, which is in St. Louis County.

Those four stores are among the 19 Shop ‘n Save locations in Missouri and Illinois that Schnucks plans to buy.

Schnucks said it expects the acquisitions to begin Oct. 7 and be complete in late October.

Once Schnucks completes a store purchase, that store will be closed for two-and-a-half days before reopening as a Schnucks store, the company reported.

Schnucks said it will offer Shop ‘n Save store employees jobs at the same pay rate, comparable number of hours and comparable duties.

While Schnucks is not planning to buy the High Ridge store, it does plan to buy the store’s prescription files, which will be transferred to the Schnucks store at 20 Dillon Plaza in High Ridge.
