Due to the coronavirus pandemic, MERS Goodwill stores have closed and will reopen once the stay-at-home orders have ended and the virus threat has passed, the nonprofit organization has announced.
MERS Goodwill has three stores in Jefferson County, one at 1255 N. Truman Blvd., Festus; another at 3616 Richardson Square Way, Arnold; and the third at 99 Sugar Creek Center in unincorporated Fenton.
“We ask the community to hang on to any donations until such time that we are allowed to reopen. We’ll need them more than ever,” said David Kutchback, president and CEO of the worldwide nonprofit organization, in March 31 written statrment.
Organization officials are concerned that any donations left outside at Goodwill drop-off locations may be subject to theft or damage, according to the statement.
Donations enable Goodwill to provide employment, job training and employment services, the organization reported.
Currently, the Cardinals baseball ticket promotion, offering donors half-price vouchers to Cardinals home games, is still planned for when Goodwill opens and the baseball season commences.
