Dunkin’ restaurant opens in Festus

This Dunkin' restaurant has opened on Veterans Boulevard in Festus.

A new Dunkin’ drive-in restaurant opened in Festus on Aug. 16 to a steady stream of customers, franchise partner Michael Crouch said.

The restaurant is at 1304 Veterans Blvd. (Hwy. A) in the Festus Pointe retail complex next to I-55 and will hold a grand opening from 9-11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 26). The event will include “some giveaways,” said Crouch, 47, of Cape Girardeau.

“Business has been good,” he said. “We’re probably having a little more than we expected, even.”

The 900-square foot restaurant operates with drive-thru and walk-up windows and has no indoor service. It offers a typical Dunkin’ restaurant menu that includes doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, coffee and other items.

Crouch said he is a partner in a franchise that owns and operates more than 30 Dunkin’ restaurants in Missouri, Michigan and Ohio, and the group intends to open seven more in the St. Louis region over the next several years.

Crouch said the Festus location has a couple of dozen employees.

Its hours of operation are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day but Sunday, when it is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
