Dieb Enterprises in the Hillsboro area, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in July, brings together the best qualities of a large company and a small company, co-owner Debbie Politte said.
Politte and her sister, Diane Hunter, own the business, which was started by their father, Charles Cross, in 1982. The company, which remanufactures payment systems, fountain equipment, brewers and machine boards, is located at 9334 Hwy. BB. Politte lives in Hillsboro, and Hunter lives in Bullhead City, Ariz.
“Our mom, Ruth Cross, still sits on our board,” Politte said. “She also lives in Hillsboro.”
Dieb Enterprises serves as an elite service center or partner with CPI, Conlux, Sodeco, Currenza, TriTeq, Keurig, Bunn and Crane. Over the years, it has expanded into gaming, transit and kiosk markets.
“When my father started the company, he came out of a large corporation he’d worked for, for 27 years,” Politte said. “He knew the good of a large corporation and kept it and took the bad and got rid of it, the red tape.”
Politte said this business strategy has helped Dieb Enterprises grow over the years.
“We started with three people,” she said. “As we’ve grown, we kept the small-family atmosphere and are now a $13 million company with over 90 employees.”
The company also strives to keep its customers happy while changing with the times, Politte said.
“The other thing is our customer service,” she said. “That’s our strength. We adapt to our customers and we adapt to the economy.”
Politte said Dieb Enterprises is a proud member of the Hillsboro community.
“Our property used to be part of the Huskey family farm,” she said. “They were the first white settlers in the Hillsboro area.”
