Bethany Cherie Day, 21, Festus died July 18, 2018, in Ste. Genevieve County. Ms. Day was a shift manager at Rich’s Frozen Custard in Festus. She graduated from Festus High School in 2015 and attended Jefferson College. A talented musician and songwriter, she won the Hillsboro Idol Talent contest twice, as well as other contests in Herculaneum, Festus and Festus High School. She played guitar, banjo, ukulele, keyboard, and sang and wrote her own music. She loved her dachshund, Gabby, and her cats, Maple and Juniper. Born Feb. 25, 1997, in Festus, she was the daughter of Cherie (Matthew Camou) Nelson of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Bryan (Michele) Day of Festus.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three half siblings: Atlas Camou, Zara Camou and Bodhi Camou, all of Honolulu; two stepsiblings: Jayna Sherrill of Doe Run and Dason Boyer of Bonne Terre; and four grandparents: Brenda and Mark Day of Festus and Dave and Carol Nelson of San Jose, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Cody Alley. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
