Nearly $3,500 worth of jewelry recently was stolen from a home in the 900 block of Autumn Knoll Place in the Festus area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The burglary happened between April 2 and April 4, while the victim was away from home. But, the victim said she didn’t realize the jewelry was missing until April 16, when the theft was reported to the Sheriff’s Office, the report said.
Several pieces of jewelry, including a ring, were stolen. In all, the items were valued at $3,465, according to the report.
There were no signs of forced entry, and the victim told deputies she sometimes forgets to lock up, the report said.
The jewelry had not been recovered and no arrests had been made as of April 22, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
