Vandals let Arnold company’s beet juice flood parking lot for $3,000 loss

Vandals caused nearly $3,000 worth of damage at Scott’s Power Equipment on the West Outer Road in the Arnold area when they recently opened a valve on a 2,000-gallon container filled with beet juice, which poured out on the parking lot, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The business uses beet juice to fill tractor tires for added weight, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

About 1,600 gallons of beet juice drained out of the container, costing the company about $2,880, the report said.

The incident happened between 5 p.m. Oct. 30 and 8:37 a.m. Oct. 31.

No arrests had been made as of Monday (Nov. 26), Arnhart said.

He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
