Christine J. “Cricky” (Bock) Lang of Arnold died February 4, 2013, at the age of 44, after a long battle with kidney disease.
She was an Arnold Ward 1 councilwoman and a member and past president of the Fox Elementary School Parents Club.
Born Dec. 30, 1968, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Patsy J. (Hartman) Bock of Arnold and the late Wesley J. Bock.
She also is survived by her husband, Shawn C. Lang of Arnold; two children, Katlyn and Tyler Lang, both of Arnold; a sister, Diane (Ken) Harris of Powell, Ohio, and a brother, B.J. (Lisa) Bock of Imperial; a niece, Rebecca Bock; and a nephew, Brian Bock.
Lang was a 1987 Fox High School graduate and an active member and past honored queen of Bethels 47 and 1.
She served on the Arnold City Council since April 2010 and her accomplishments included working to bring to Arnold a piece of steel that was part of the World Trade Center before the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The steel is part of a memorial outside the Arnold Recreation Center.
Visitation will be held at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, from 2-8 p.m. Wed., Feb. 6, and from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at People’s Church, 1770 Missouri State Road, Arnold, followed by the funeral service. Internment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Christine Lang Memorial Fund, c/o Eagle Bank, 3944 Vogel Road, Arnold, 63010, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. A fund is being set up in her children’s name and information will be announced when it becomes available.
