Security footage shows thieves stealing security cameras at Meramec Heights Elementary School west of Arnold

Two surveillance cameras recently were stolen from the Meramec Heights Elementary School campus at 1340 West Outer 21 west of Arnold, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Meramec Heights is one of 11 elementary schools in the Fox School District.

The theft happened about 2 a.m. March 28, according to security footage, the report said.

The footage showed a white truck pull onto the school property underneath the cameras and then a person unhook the cameras, according to the report.

The truck was a large one with an extended cab and orange lights on the roof, the report said.

Another smaller white truck also was on the property around the same time, according to the report.

The cameras were valued at about $800 each, the report said.

No arrests had been made as of April 20, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
