Richardson Road work begins Wednesday

Motorists can expect lane closures on Richardson Road in Arnold beginning next week.

Construction crews are expected to start replacing concrete slabs on Richardson between Jeffco Boulevard and St. John’s Church Road on Wednesday, Oct. 26, said Bryson Baker, the city’s Public Works director.

The work probably will take between two and three weeks to complete, he said.

“It will be two weeks if everything goes perfect, Baker said.

He said the center turning lane will be closed during the project, along with the lane being worked on at the time.

The road has two lanes in each direction, plus the turning lane.

In September, construction crews completed replacing the outside lane in each direction. The upcoming project will replace the inside lane in each direction, Baker said.

Dura-Seal Paving Contractor Inc. in Barnhart will do the work. The project will cost $136,500, Baker said.

The slab replacement that was finished in September cost $108,250. Dura-Seal also did that work, he added.

Baker said more work needs to be done on Richardson between St. John’s Church Road and I-55, but those improvements have not been budgeted.
