Lumber recently was stolen from the Jefferson County Lumber Co. at Main Street and Hwy. 61-67 in Imperial, reports Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The theft occurred between 4 p.m. Aug. 11 and 7 a.m. Aug. 13.
An undetermined amount of lumber was stolen. Also, the side of a metal building was spray-painted, the report said.
The value of the missing lumber and damage to the building had not been determined, Arnhart said Aug. 31.
It looked like the thief or thieves got onto the property by climbing a fence behind the lumber yard, according to the report.
No arrests had been made as of Aug. 31, Arnhart said.
