The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information about the theft of jewelry, coins and other items from a home in the 1700 block of Lincoln Drive in Barnhart.

Those items were stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 10, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

They included a watch and ring that had belonged to the victim’s mother and a variety of antique and costume jewelry, as well as gold and silver coins and jewelry boxes. The items were valued between $3,000 and $5,000, the report said.

The man and woman who live at the home told deputies they noticed that a window screen in the kitchen had been moved, so it appears the thief or thieves got into the home through that window, according to the report.

Deputies talked to a neighbor who reported seeing an older model, light blue and white Chevrolet pickup in the driveway of the home around the time the theft, the report said.

As of Tuesday, no arrests had been made said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

Those with information about the incident are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
