A 27-year-old High Ridge man was arrested about 4 p.m. Oct. 12, after he allegedly trespassed at the Clarkson Eyecare store on Vogel Road in Arnold and assaulted a police officer, Arnold Police report.

The man had previously been been asked not to return to the store but allegedly showed up there, so officers were called to the scene. But, when officers arrived, the man assaulted a police officer and ran away, the report said.

“When the officer was putting on the cuffs, the man slapped his arm and ran away,” Arnold Police Major Nick McBroom said.

Officers apprehended the man a short time later nearby, on Theodore Drive, the report said.

The man had outstanding misdemeanor warrants from Crystal City and Manchester, so McBroom said, so he was booked and held for the other agencies.

Charges for trespassing, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest will be sought through the Arnold Municipal Court, McBroom said.
