Hampton, 33, of Arnold recognized for interest in politics, politicians

Chris Hampton, 33, of Arnold loves local politics and politicians, so he was on cloud nine Thursday (April 19), when Arnold Mayor Ron Counts and Arnold City Council members recognized him for taking an active interest in his community.

Hampton, who has autism, regularly writes letters to local politicians. He graduated from Fox High School in 1999 and has been writing those letters since he was a student there.

As part of Autism Awareness Month, Counts proclaimed April 19 Christopher Michael Hampton Day and presented him with a plaque.

Some of Hampton’s family members, friends and former teachers turned out for the City Council meeting to celebrate his recognition.

He is the son of Jim and Kay Hampton.

See the next Arnold-Imperial Leader on April 26 for more information about Hampton’s recognition.
