The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of $3,500 worth of water pumps and hoses from a construction site in the 3800 block of Lonedell in the Arnold area.

The theft took place between 4 p.m. Oct. 1 and 4:45 a.m. Oct. 3, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Three 3-inch water pumps, three 20-foot-longhoses and two 50-foot-long hoses were stolen. Those items belonged to Concrete Strategies, which was working at the site, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

Each of the pumps weighed about 175 pounds, the report said.

The thief or thieves allegedly cut a lock off a chain that had been attached to the items and then secured to a large piece of metal imbedded in the bank of a nearby creek, according to the report.

No arrests had been made as of Monday (Oct. 24), said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
