The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about the theft of energy pills from the Cedar Hill Smoke Shop in the 6700 block of Mall Drive.
The burglary took place about 3:45 a.m. April 3, the Sheriff’s Office reports.
The thief broke a window in the side of the store to get inside.
A neighbor called Jefferson County 911 Dispatch about 3:45 and reported that it sounded like someone was trying to break into the store, the report said.
Also, an alarm company called 911 at 3:48 a.m., reporting that it detected motion inside the store.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they saw the broken window, but no one was inside, according to the report.
Surveillance footage shows a man inside the store at the time of the theft. The man was white and was wearing a handkerchief over his face. He also had on blue jeans, a dark hoodie and white gloves, the report said.
It looked like the suspect took an “unknown quantity” of energy pills from a display on the counter and then reached over the counter and took something else, according to the report.
Also, it looked like the man used a wooden post to break the window.
The business owner could not identify how many energy pill packets had been stolen or what had been taken from behind the counter, the report said.
The damage was estimated at about $410, according to the report.
No arrests had been as of April 13, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
