The Black Cat junior leaped a personal-best 35 feet, eight inches on her last attempt to win the girls triple jump title at the Class 2 state track and field championships on Saturday at Jefferson City. That accounted for 10 of Herculanuem’s total of 47 points, good enough for second place in the team competition. Herky’s only other individual-event champion was senior Kaitlyn Fischer in the 3,200.
