The Hawk senior won his fourth tournament title of the season on Saturday at the Bob Georger Invitational at De Soto, pinning his way to the 220-pound championship and running his season record to 44-0, including 33 pins. He is ranked first in the state at 220 in Class 3 by missouriwrestling.com. Last year he finished third at state and compiled a 52-2 record. Sheppard already has broken school career records for pins and team points and is close to breaking Jake Vonderbruegge’s school career wins record of 158 set in 2008. Sheppard earned all-state honors in football last fall in helping lead the Hawks to the Class 4 quarterfinals.
