The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of about 20 belt buckles and 100 pieces of costume jewelry from a home in the 3000 block of Terrace Drive in House Springs,.
It happened between 4:30 p.m. April 19 and 1:45 a.m. April 20, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
In all, the stolen belt buckles and jewelry were valued at about $600, the report said.
The victim told deputies that when she returned home early on April 20, she found letters and pictures scattered about her back porch, and a safe kept in the house had been moved. The letters and pictures had been kept in unlocked safe, according to the report.
Also, three jewelry boxes had been emptied and left on the floor, the report said.
There were no signs of forced entry, according to the report.
The items had not been recovered, and no arrests had been made as of Wednesday (April 24), said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
