William Joseph ‘Bill’ Michael Jr., 78, Festus

William Joseph “Bill” Michael Jr., 78, of Festus died Dec. 17, 2022, at his home. Mr. Michael was an IBEW 1439 union member and worked for the Union Electric Co. as an electrical lineman for more than 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, target shooting and spending time with family and friends. Born April 5, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Evelyn P. and William J. Michael Sr.

He is survived by his wife: Judith Michael; a son: John (Sheri) Michael of Old Monroe; a daughter: Cheryl (Todd) Shepherd of Arkansas City, Kan.; and three grandchildren: Rebecca L. and Meaghan A. Michael, and Jacob M. Shepherd.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Shirley A. Stolze.

A graveside service will be at noon Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made the Humane Society of Missouri or Longmeadow Rescue Ranch. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
