Bev Dougherty, 73, of Herculaneum sent a picture of herself taken by her husband, Pat Dougherty, in September 2010. “We were in Florence, Italy, in the courtyard outside the Uffizi Gallery, and this was a mime who entertained passersby outside,” Bev said. “He received a fee for letting you have a photo taken with him.”

Tricia Reese, 53, of House Springs sent a picture taken by Regina Ray in July while at Lake Haiyaha in Rocky Mountain National Park. “The Reeses and the Rays have vacationed together for many years, and this picture marks another beautiful memory for our families,” Tricia said. “All nine of us entered the park before 5 a.m. to hike the Bear Lake Corridor. We made it to Lake Haiyaha just as the sun was rising, and it brought out the most breathtaking colors in the sky, mountain peaks, trees and water. It has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.”

Pat Sebaugh, 73, of Hillsboro took this picture at Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia. “We took a three-week road trip in May from Hillsboro to Nova Scotia,” Pat said. “The scenery along the way was amazing, which included stops in Canada, New Hampshire, Maine and New Brunswick, Conn., among other states on the way home. One of my favorite trips.”

Pat Sebaugh, 73, of Hillsboro took this picture in August 2023 in Glacier Bay in Alaska. “This may be one of my all-time favorite vacations,” Pat said. “Two weeks on land and sea. It was our first cruise, and it couldn't have been better. This was a 40th wedding anniversary gift to ourselves. One we will never forget.”

Carole Allen, 61, of High Ridge took this picture in May 2022 of Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. “It was our only morning in Portland during an 11-day trip to Maine,” Carole said. “I got so lucky with this sunrise. Maine is quite special to my husband and me; we've had seven trips there in five years.”

Carole Allen, 61, of High Ridge took this picture in May 2023 of Lake Lousie in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. “This was our final morning of a 12-day trip to the Canadian Rockies last year, and the second half of our trip was hampered by smoke from fires in a nearby province,” Carole said. “We got up this morning to find the smoke had diminished considerably. We were staying nearby, so we went up to the lake and I got this beautiful shot of the lake and the not yet open canoe rental cabin.”

Robert Campbell, 76, of Hillsboro sent a picture his wife took in Inveraray Scotland last month. “It was a vacation we saved up for years to find our Campbell ancestral roots,” Robert said. The castle in the photo is operated by the Campbell Historical Society. “Inveraray Castle is one of the family’s original castles. It was so great and fun to learn about our heritage and meet other Campbell family members. Driving on the wrong side of the road and the roundabouts were a trip in themselves but still one of our best vacation memories ever.”

She also took a catamaran to Isla Mujeres for shopping and a bus tour to Chichen Itza to see Mayan ruins.
