Sovratana “Sunny” Cheng, 34, of Arnold served with the U.S. Navy on active duty and then another four years in the reserves.
“I joined the armed forces in 2008,” the Houston native said. “I was stationed in Dallas/Ft. Worth. I did a 10-month tour in Afghanistan in 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.”
Cheng was awarded an Afghanistan campaign medal with bronze star, a National Defense Service medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve medal.
Cheng emigrated from Cambodia to the U.S. in 2004. He now lives in Arnold and is the owner/operator of Drew’s Donut Stop on Jeffco Blvd.
