Charles W. Fulbright
Jay Fulbright sent in this photo of his grandfather, the late Charles W. Fulbright. “He was drafted while the Korean War was on,” Jay said. “That is where this photo was taken sometime during the winter of 1951 or ’52. After the cease-fire between North and South Korea, he was sent to Fort Carson, Colo., to finish his time in the Army. He hitchhiked back to Missouri with another person who was getting out.” Mr. Fulbright, who lived in Imperial, worked as a warehouse manager for Kas Potato Chips. He died at age 88 in October. “He will be deeply missed, as he was a pillar of the family,” Jay said. “We all love and miss him dearly.”
