Festus softball team

Festus hosts Windsor today at 4:30 p.m.

The Festus softball team can clinch its second consecutive JCAA large-schools championship this afternoon at home against Windsor. The first pitch is 4:30. The Tigers have a record of 22-4, have won 15 straight games and are 5-0 in the conference. The Owls (16-9) are 4-1 in JCAA games. Hillsboro (15-9, 4-2) beat Windsor 5-4 in Imperial on Monday after the Hawks scored five runs in the sixth inning. Hillsboro hosts Seckman (13-11) today.

Windsor is hosting the Class 4 District 1 tournament, which begins Oct. 15. Festus is the No. 1 seed. Last year’s District 1 champion, Cape Girardeau (Notre Dame) (20-8-1) is seeded second.
