St. Pius X will play Hermann in the Class 2 volleyball championship Saturday at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
The Lancers (35-4) won all three matches Friday during pool play. They beat St. Paul Lutheran (Concordia) 25-9, 25-11 in their first match. In their second match, they beat Liberty (Mountain View) 25-12, 25-13. And in their final match Friday, the Lancers topped Hermann 25-15, 25-21.
St. Paul (27-8-3) plays Liberty (29-7-2) in the third-place match at noon.
This is the seventh year in a row the Lancers have made it to the final four. They spent the last two years in Class 3, where they finished second and third respectively. They last won a state title in 2011, when they were in Class 2.
