Grandview’s football team won its first game since October of 2015 with a 28-22 victory over visiting Herculaneum on Friday night.
It was homecoming weekend for the Eagles, who were 0-15 since rejoining the varsity ranks in 2018. Grandview running back David Creath led all rushers with 157 yards on 22 carries. Creath scored three touchdowns against the Blackcats, who fell to 1-5 and 0-4 in the I-55 Conference. The Eagles are 1-5 and 1-2, with conference games remaining against Jefferson, St. Vincent and Crystal City.
Running back Chase Wilson added 98 yards on 17 carries for Grandview and had two interceptions playing in the defensive backfield. Eagles quarterback Jakob Brand’s only completion was a 22-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Barker in the first quarter. Clayton Riddle also played QB for the Eagles and completed all three of his pass attempts.
