The Fox girls soccer team won its sixth straight game after beating Seckman 4-2 to win the Windsor Tournament on Friday night.
The two Suburban Conference rivals are both playing great soccer this season as the Warriors improved to 8-1 and the Jaguars (5-1) fell for the first time. Fox beat Pacific, St. Vincent and Seckman by a combined score of 15-2 to win the tournament in Imperial.
Junior forward Hayley Hogenmiller scored the game’s first goal on a breakaway at 23:17 to give the Jaguars a 1-0 lead.
Sophomore Ella Robinson scored for the Warriors to tie the game 1-1 at 38:20 with a high floater that got caught in the swirling winds and landed behind Seckman goalkeeper Olivia Beck.
Fox scored two early goals in the second half to take a 3-1 lead. Sophomore Aubrey Andrews gave the Warriors a 2-1 lead at 41:18 and junior captain Lily Cook made it 3-1 at 44:00.
Senior forward Kylie Murie cut the Fox lead to 3-2 with a Seckman goal at 67:44 when her shot was caught by the wind and pushed inside the goal post past Warrior goalie Elizabeth Arnold. But less than a minute later Cook scored her second goal of the half with an assist by freshman Natalie Miller.
The Jaguars and Warriors meet again in Arnold on April 19.
