Eureka senior Ally Weis came in second in the diving competition in the Class 2 portion of the 43rd annual Girls Swimming and Diving Championship today (Feb. 17) at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.

Eureka senior Ally Weis closed her high school career with a third straight appearance on the state championship diving podium.

Weis finished second in the Class 2 portion of the 43rd annual Girls Swimming and Diving Championship today (Feb. 17) at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. This was the first year the Missouri State High School Activities Association divided the swimming and diving championship meet into two classes.

Weis finished behind Lafayette senior Elle Christie, who scored 451.6 points. Weis had 441.2 points.

“It feels good,” Weis said. “I feel good about my diving today. I did everything I could have done as well as I could of, so it’s good.”

Weis finished third in the diving competition last year, and in 2016, she came in seventh. As a freshman, Weis qualified for the state championship, but she did not advance out of the preliminary round and finished 26th overall.

Weis said she plans to continue her diving career in college, and she is deciding between the University of Kansas and Missouri State University.
