The junior pitcher fanned 17 St. Pius X batters in the Hawks’ 3-0 victory in a Jefferson County Activities Association game on Friday. In her previous start against JCAA rival Jefferson on Sept. 28, Eckrich twirled a perfect game with 13 strikeouts as Hillsboro beat the Blue Jays 15-0 in five innings. For the season, she is batting .475 with seven doubles, a home run and 15 RBIs. In the circle, Eckrich is 10-1 with 94 strikeouts and a 1.37 ERA. The Hawks have won four straight games and are 15-7 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
