In helping her team qualify for the Amateur Softball Association USA national 14-U tournament this week in San Diego, Handrahan, a sophomore at Jefferson High, has compiled a 22-7 pitching record this summer with an earned-run average of 1.77 and 179 strikeouts over 169 and one-third innings pitched. Earlier this month, the Prospects (40-16-1) won the Missouri-Illinois Braggin’ Rights 16-U tournament, in which Handrahan gave up one earned run in 20 and one-third innings and struck out 24 while walking only five.
