Gemberling, in his third season as Post 253’s starting second baseman, drove in the first run and scored the last run in a 13-3 Festus victory over Rock Memorial on Saturday (July 19) that secured the team’s seventh consecutive District 13 championship. He led all batsmen with three hits and three runs batted in. He also smashed a two-run triple in a 7-6 Festus victory over No. 2 seed Ste. Genevieve earlier in the tournament.
