Ford, who will be a senior at Festus, used his hitting and pitching to help the Blazers of the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association to two blowout victories last week. In a 14-2 win over the Wildcats 18-U on July 13, Ford was 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI and a stolen base. On the mound, he pitched 4 2/3 innings of the five-inning game shortened by the mercy rule. Ford fanned six batters and allowed three hits. The next day, in an 11-0 shutout of Gashouse 18-U Columbia, he had a hit, a run, an RBI and drew two walks. Ford played for the Festus team that won the Class 4 District 1 championship this spring.
