The 2022 Grandview graduate pitched a no-hitter in a 4-0 shutout of De Soto SMCI in a District 13 game in Imperial on July 7. O’Brien struck out eight and issued one walk in seven innings as Rock Memorial improved to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in district play. It was O’Brien’s second straight win against a district opponent. He hurled six innings and fanned eight in a 4-1 victory over Ste. Genevieve Post 150 on June 30. Ste. Gen won the regular-season district title and is the top seed in this week’s postseason tournament.
