Langelier, Bill

William Ray “Bill” Langelier, 73, of Festus died Sept. 29, 2014, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Mr. Langelier was a retired chemical worker with River Cement and a longtime farmer. He was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. Born Aug. 27, 1941, in Festus, he was the son of the late Catherine (Basler) and Lambert F. Langelier.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Becky (Pruneau) Langelier; three daughters: Tammy (Jim) Braswell of Sand Springs, Okla., Brenda (Joe) Renner of Festus and Michele Langelier of Festus; two sisters: Eileen (the late Robert) Herrell of Imperial and Kathy (the late Jim) Ellis of Festus; two brothers: John Langelier of Festus and Larry (Jerry) Langelier of Arnold; eight grandchildren: Nichole Masso, Cristina Moll, Travis (Becky) Braswell, Jeremy (Brandi) DuVall, Jamie Edwards, Tyler (Maggie) Edwards, Chelse (Dustin) Hampton and Bryce Ronecker; and eight great-grandchildren: Spencer Braswell, Maddie Braswell, Darby Masso, Riley  DuVall, Maci-Jae DuVall, Amyas Edwards, Avery Edwards and Avalyn Hampton.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Earl F. (the late Venita “Betty”) Langelier.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Church in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey Maassen. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
