William Lightner, 92, of De Soto died June 12, 2019. Mr. Lightner retired from Ozark Airlines after 35 years in the aircraft maintenance field. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, after retirement, volunteeried to teach children reading skills.. He was born September 2, 1926. He was preceded in death by his wife: Katherine Lightner.
He is survived by two sons: William G. (Kathryn) Brian and Gerard (Christine) Lightner; and a granddaughter: Marissa (Nathaniel) Kistner.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, 3949 Wilmington Ave., in St. Louis, officiated by Father Ron Hopmeier. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Florissant. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
