William L. Akridge, 87, of Imperial died Jan. 28, 2017, in Arnold. Mr. Akridge was a machinist for McDonnell-Douglas. He was a veteran of the U.S. military. Born April 12, 1929, in Bogart, he was the son of the late John and Clara (Minor) Akridge.
He is survived by his wife: Ruth N. (Schopp) Akridge; a son: Bill (Cara) Akridge of Festus; two daughters: Janet (Mike) Rowden of Hillsboro and Pat (Mackie) Darian-Douglas of Herculaneum; five grandchildren: Kristi (Andrew) Garrison, Keith (Stephanie) Rowden, Doug (Amy) Darian, Chris Akridge and Bill Akridge; and 10 great-grandchildren: Kenzi, Dallas, Blaine, Ashlynn, RJ, Ava, Eli, Serenity, Vigo and Hunter; and several siblings.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Kevin Rowden and Dennis Darian.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the funeral home, officiated by John Polk. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
