William Joseph McKeown, 75, of Festus died Feb. 15, 2020, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mr. McKeown served in the U.S. Army and was a retired automobile mechanic. He also was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City. Born Jan. 19, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late June M. (Domke) and Franklin S. McKeown.

He is survived by his wife: Rosalee “Rose” (Shipley) McKeown; a daughter: Theresa McKeown; four sons: David, William, Patrick and Nicholas McKeown, all of Missouri; a sister: Mary McKeown of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers: Dan McKeown of St. Louis and Frank (Karen) McKeown of St. Louis; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service with full military honors will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Memorials may be made to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, in House Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
