William Everett “Bill” Ryan, 75, of Pevely died March 17, 2022, in Charleston. Mr. Ryan, a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. military, was retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation after 37 years. He worked for D& S Fence for six years before starting his business A&E Transport at the age of 71. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, a member and past Grand Exalted Ruler in Elks Lodge 1765, a health trainer for the Red Cross, a member of the Pevely Park Board and an alderman for Ward 3. He enjoyed traveling the US, solving puzzles, fixing things, working on projects and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Born April 19, 1946, in Ironton, he was the son of the late Dorothy G. (Pigg) and Lynn Everett Ryan.
He is survived by his wife: Kristine (Von Fange) Ryan; a daughter: Brande (Ben) Hicks of Aubrey, Texas; a son: William Scott (Akleema Khan) Ryan of Crystal, Minn.; three grandchildren: Jacob Hicks, Jacquelyn Hicks and Everett Ryan; and a brother: Don Ryan of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by a brother: James Ryan.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Monday, March 28, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Bryan Roberts. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
