
Willard “PaPa” Ray Rainey, 85, of High Ridge died May 3, 2022, in Arnold. Mr. Rainey enjoyed the simpler things in life, like spending time with his family, being outside, fishing and tending to his flower garden. Born June 29, 1936, in Millcreek, he was the son of the late Cecil Rainey and Anna (Johnson) Rainey.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia A. (Vineyard) Rainey, whom he married in February 1965 in St. Louis.
He also is survived by his son: Wayne (the late Denise) Rainey; two grandchildren: Austin (Madison) Rainey and Gavin Rainey; two great-grandchildren: Aiden and Kennedy Rainey; two siblings: Roy (Pat) Rainey and Carl Rainey; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by nine siblings: Irene Tesreau, Anna May (Lee) Chapman, Geraldine Evans, Norma Tripp, Marie Whitaker, Etta Lou Wray, Lillian Johnson, John Rainey and Wayne Rainey.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13 at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
