Cook, Wayne

Wayne Mack Cook, 74, of Festus died July 26, 2017, at his home. Mr. Cook was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely and Elks Lodge 1721 in Crystal City. Born Sep. 9, 1942, in Bell City, he was the son of the late Maude (McDaniels) and Roy W. Cook.

He is survived by his wife: Carol (Flanigan) Cook; two sons: Tony (Mendy) Cook of Herculaneum and Michael (Trisha) Cook of Festus; two daughters: Lisa (Larry) Brown of Barnhart and Sherri (the late Billy) Cook Roth of Festus; two sisters: Bonnie (the late Dean) Hankins of Farmington and Ethel (the late Charles) of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren: Brandy (Jeris) Moonier, Tyler Cook, Nicholas White, Todd Montgomery, Kody Roth, Allie Cook, Katie Brown, Chance Roth, Duncan Cook, and Dalton Cook; and four great-grandchildren: Tate Moonier, Ellie Moonier, Tristan Montgomery and Ella Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by a son: Steve M. Cook; and four brothers: Jackie (the late Judith) Cook, Jerry L. (Shirley survives of California) Cook, Roy Russell Cook and Richard (Doris survives of Herculaneum) Metcalf.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely, officiated by the Rev. Richard Sanders. Memorials may be made to the Festus/Crystal City Food Pantry or St. Jude Children’s Cancer Network. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
