Walter A. Kolano III, 75, of De Soto died Jan. 27, 2022, at his home. Mr. Kolano was a U.S. Army veteran. Born Sept. 3, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Elba and Walter Kolano Jr.
He is survived by his wife: Janice Kolano; three children: Eva Kolano, Joseph (Martienne) Kolano and Jason (Emma Gaskens) Kolano; four sisters: Christine Kolano, Charlotte Thomas, Denise Rodgers and Jennifer (Paul) Dreste; a half brother: Douglas (Doris) Kirby; seven grandchildren: Caleb (Hilary) Cox, Juliet (Keith) Sanders, Andrew Cox, Benjamin Cox, Lanna Cox, Nicholas Kolano and Anthony Kolano; and two great-grandchildren: Everly Cox and Emilie Cox. He was preceded in death by a half brother: Jack Kirby.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 7, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. A burial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
