Virginia Winkler, 85, of Festus died June 6, 2018, at HillcrestCareCenter in De Soto. Mrs. Winkler was a retired certified nurse's assistant for Burt Manor in De Soto and worked in home health care for many patients. She also was a member of Radiant Life Church in Festus. Born March 24, 1933, in Philadelphia, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Anna Laura (Begley) and Ernest Myers.
She was preceded in death by her husband: William E. Winkler Sr.
Mrs. Winkler is survived by two sons: Alan (Kay) Sutton of Festus and Donnie Sutton of Festus; two daughters: Gail (Bill) Guidicy of Festus and Pam Sutton of Farmington; two stepdaughters: Connie (Jim) Barker of Festus and Margaret (Will) Sago of Festus; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She also was preceded in death by one stepson: William E. "Corky" Winkler Jr.; one grandson: Douglas Winkler; five brothers; and nine sisters.
Funeral services were today, June 8, at Vinyard Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Randy Gray. Burial was be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
