Virginia R. Schutte, 88, of De Soto died Sept. 11, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis County. Mrs. Schutte was a homemaker. Born Oct. 15, 1932, in Bliss, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Rose (Coleman) Boyer and the stepdaughter of the late Ken Silvey. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Joseph E. Schutte Sr. and Anthony Bob Schutte
She is survived by four children: Vincent (Donna) Schutte of House Springs, Joseph E. “Ed” (Kay) Schutte Jr. of De Soto, Rose Marie Douglas of Springfield and Betty Boushie of Lake Ozark; three stepchildren: Cheryl Aubuchon, Diana Gresko and Penny (Jeff) Milner and their families; four siblings: Margaret (the late Art) Yarbrough, Rita (Ed) Seyfarth, John (Grace) Boyer and Everett (Diane) Boyer, all of De Soto; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six sisters: Lucille Guenther, Cynthia O’Neal, Louise Mendenhall, Elizabeth Bourbon, Theresa Sampson and Cecilia Coleman; and a brother: Joseph Boyer.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto.
