Virginia L. Isgrigg, 84, of De Soto died July 31, 2018, at SSM Health St. Clare Hispital in Fenton. Mrs. Isgrigg was a retired teacher with the Sunrise R-9 School District in De Soto. Born Dec. 14, 1933, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Viva (Williams) Long and John W. Long and the stepdaughter of the late Edwin “Pete” Thal.
She is survived by four children: James (Deborah) Isgrigg of Florissant, Yvonne (Gary) Perry of De Soto, Lorna (Dave) Hohenstein of St. Louis County and Meleah Gaye (Michael) Lowry of De Soto; and seven grandchildren: Joelene Isgrigg, James Hohenstein, Aaron Hohenstein, Avery Hohenstein, Blake Lowry, Addison Lowry and Aiden Lowry.
She was preceded in death by three infant daughters: Robyn, Connie and Dawn.
A memorial gathering will be at 10 a.m. and a memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1620 Boyd St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Dr. G. Michael Rose. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
