Virginia L. “Ginny” Gilliam, 79, of Festus died Sept. 4, 2016, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Gilliam was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus and the Order of the Eastern Star. Born Nov. 11, 1936, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Eulah (Harris) and Roscoe Koester.
She is survived by her husband: Clement E. “Clem” Gilliam, a sister: Mary (the late Dan) Richardson of St. Louis; a brother: David (Carol) Koester of Festus; a sister-in-law: Verna Koester of Festus; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Bryan Eugene Gilliam; a sister: Reda Faye Koester; and three brothers: Alfred (the late Gloria) Koester, Robert Koester and Raymond Koester.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home, officiated by Brother Matt Culbertson. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
