Vila Margaret Politte, 90, of Crystal City died Oct. 14, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. Mrs. Politte was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Viola Margaret (Johnston) and James “Felix” Evans.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James Clement Politte.
She is survived by three sons: John (Brenda) Politte of O’Fallon, Chris Politte of Oakville and Rob Politte of Crystal City; a sister: Phyllis (Dennis) Buckalew of Highland, Ill.; and a grandson: Drake (Brenda) Politte.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers: Norris “Jake” Gansert and James (the late Joyce) Evans.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral Mass at noon Saturday, Nov. 18, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary's Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Michael Boehm. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
